About Us · Who's flying this thing

The crew behind CubeSat33.

We're a small team of engineers, builders, and space-obsessives who think a smarter small satellite — one built around dual-mode green propulsion and high-speed laser communications — is the right way to make every minute in orbit productive. No giant agency, no nine-figure budget. Just commercial off-the-shelf hardware, open data, and a lot of stubbornness.

Our mission

Make orbit useful for everyone

Getting to space stopped being the hard part — getting your data home is. CubeSat33 exists to demonstrate that a tiny satellite, an efficient ion bus, and a relay through a satellite communications system that's already everywhere — Starlink or a similar network — could close that gap. We build in the open, publish what works and what doesn't, and want as many people as possible to come along for the ride.

Build in the open

Transparent by default

Real budgets, real test results, real setbacks. Backers and the curious see the whole process, not just the highlight reel.

Lean & COTS-first

Buy, don't reinvent

We lean on flight-proven commercial subsystems so our effort goes into the parts that are actually new — the relay payload and the mission.

Open data

Science for all

Telemetry and downlinked data go to a public portal. If we reach orbit, what CubeSat33 learns is everyone's to use.
